7302 Intro into Delivering Learning-Scotland only

Course Aims

This course is offered in Scotland only until September 2008. DataCom Interactive provides the 7302 Level 3 Certificate in Delivering Learning. The 7302 is an introductory course and a chance to get on the first run of the qualification ladder. It is aimed at those who want an introduction to delivering training/teaching or are seeking career progression within their particular sector as a trainer. Also for thoses who are not already in the workplace and who require evidence for the SVQ in Learning and Development.

No specific prior qualifications, learning or experience are required for candidates undertaking this qualification. The nature of both the learning and assessment of each candidate requires that candidates can interpret written tasks and write and organise information and answers in a legible and understandable form.

Who should attend

This course is suitable for those who work or who want to work as tutors in the post 16 sector, candidates who are trainers in industry, the police, HM forces, nurses, carers or any other agencies. It is also suitable for those who have a training role within charities or voluntary organisations and candidates who have a small number of teaching hours in FE, Adult Education or Community Learning Institutions. It is intended to equip trainers, facilitators and teachers to support learning and to enable them to adopt an integrative, reflective approach to the theory and practice of teaching.
This is the minimum qualification required for trainers who want to deliver training into the security sector for licence to practice courses. Trainers seeking to work in the security sector may require an appropriate CRB or Disclosure Scotland check.
Progression
On completion, you may wish to study at the next level - the C & G 7407:
7407 Stage 1: Certificate in Further Education Teaching
7407 Stage 2: Certificate in Further Education Teaching
On completion of the 7407 courses, you may wish to consider the option of undertaking a PGCE or Certificate in Education programme.

  • Unit 1: Key principles of delivering learning
  • Unit 2: Learning Programmes
  • Unit 3: Delivery of a micro-teaching session
  • Unit 4: Learning journal and summative profile
  • Unit 5: Case Study

Qualification

City & Guilds 7302 Certificate in Delivering Learning - An Introduction

Assessment

Units 1, 2, 3, & 4 - assignments set by City and Guilds and marked by the centre. Work is also externally verified by the examining board.
Unit 5 - a Case Study set by City and Guilds and marked externally.

Course Duration

It comprises 40 class hours which includes a 30 minute micro-teach per candidate. It can be delivered in any environment that provides for the requisite teaching space for the number of candidates and has the appropriate facilities
