Course Aims

To gain an understanding of the different types of dementia, early symptoms and current treatments available and understand the role and responsibilities in caring for adults with dementia. Also to develop an awareness of the different support agencies available.

Who should attend

This qualification is designed for those either currently caring for, or planning to work in care environments such as hospitals, residential and respite care homes, day care centres and in an individuals own home.

Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care
Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care
Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care
Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care

Course Content

• This qualification consists of 3 units
• Unit 01 – Understanding Dementia
• Unit 02 – Understanding the practical help available for people with dementia
• Unit 03 - Caring for people with dementia
